OXFORD UNIVERSITY FENCING CLUB
Est 1891
President’s Welcome
As a member of OUFC, you will be joining one of Britain’s oldest and most successful fencing clubs, founded in 1891. We have specialised coaching for regardless of whether you are a beginner, recreational or competitive fencer, including private lessons, group footwork, and group beadwork sessions. Our membership is open to all Oxford University students and staff, and community members over the age of 18. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out and contact me or any committee member. I can’t wait to welcome you into our big OUFC family, and I hope to see you all at training this academic year!

OUFC President 2025-26
Competitions
OUFC provides opportunities for competitive fencers to compete both individually and as part of our First and Seconds Teams — known as the ‘Blues’ and the ‘Assassins’. Over the last few years, the Club has been home to inter-University BUCS competition champions and has achieved incredibly strong results nationally and internationally. The highlight of our season is the annual Varsity match against Cambridge, the 117th event of which will be hosted in Oxford in March 2025.
OUFC has a strong beginners’ foil program run by a certified coach and volunteers for anyone wishing to fence for the first time or returning after an extended break. Beginners will be able to showcase their skills at the end of the year in our annual Novice Varsity.

Socials
Outside of training, our social secretaries this year have worked hard to put together a jam-packed social calendar, including bar nights and crew dates, along with our big annual events such as Christmas Dinner, Varsity Dinner, Old Blues, and Novice Varsity dinner.
